The straw comes from a palm in Ecuador called Toquilla and is the same straw using in the handcrafting of the finest Panama hats. The women weaving this disks live in the mountains of Montecristi, Ecuador
The embellishment have been made by me , Allie Thornton, in my CA studio, using shells and gold beads in wire wrapping techniques, the posts are gold filled 14k.
