The straw is super light is called toquilla and is the same straw using in the handcrafting of the finest Panama hats. The women weaving this disks live in the mountains of Montecristi, Ecuador

The embellishment have been made by me Allie Thornton, in my CA studio, using gold wire, gold beads and real pearls wire wrapped to the woven disks resembling a flower. This piece is OOAK, because I have handmade only one in this color and style and is part of my new OOAK collection "Woven Dreams" only made for customers who want truly unique jewelry. The post are high quality gold filled 14k. Hypoallergenic also.
 
My collaboration with other women in Ecuador, the land where I was born is helping to create eco jobs and economic independence for women, the design takes time in wire wrapping of weaving the wire witht gold beads for a luxury and one of a kind end piece.
